There were lots of picnic tables with umbrellas for us to dine at. A few of us opted for the Whistle Burger which turned out to be a beef patty covered in chili covered in a bun.
The beef patty provided some texture in the sandwich; otherwise it was dull. I could not discern the cheese or bacon flavours. The sliced white onion included some depth to the hamburger foundation. The bun was really dry and flaky. Bill commented "More chili on hamburger than hamburger." Mike wrote "This hamburger was all about chili.
The sauce added taste without excessive grease, the bacon was crisp and fresh, however the cheese, lettuce and other toppings were almost invisible." Karen examined the Fatboy "It had a soft Kaiser roll with lots of saucy lettuce and huge tomato. The hamburger is chewy-thin and truly dark coloured.
A couple of burgerettes had the bacon burger. "The patty looked like a frozen hamburger patty and kind of tasted like one as well however the bacon was nice and crispy" stated Mireille.
Opinions differed on the fries and I presume they tasted best when they were hot. A wonderful function of the WPD is that it shares the parking lot with a DQ and as everyone knows, burgers must always be followed up with ice-cream.
All's well, that ends well!.
